Ideas4ADIs - Customer Database
![]() |
This is the core element of the data recording system available in the Ideas4ADIs Suite of software for ADIs. It has gone through various stages of development and is now in constant and regular daily use.
The database has been designed specifically for Driving Instructors.
All details on the pupil, their progress and account details can be stored in one place and all details can be printed, as reports, as required. If required, blank versions of all reports can be printed.
The database is constructed using Microsoft Access and is available in Access 97, Access 2000 and Access XP.
You can ‘personalise’ the database to your own characteristics i.e. your name, driving school etc. This allows short-cut entries on some forms, reports with your personal details on them and other useful facilities.
The database is ‘switchboard driven’ – so it’s a case of ‘follow the bouncing ball’. However, a comprehensive user guide is provided with the database.
Customer Data Form
Customers can be recalled under various categories: active, inactive, finished etc. to simplify use.
The normal opening page contains the ‘personal’ details on each customer. Supplementary, tabbed pages allow access to:
- Progress record. Based on the DSA's Drivers' Record.
- Progress notes. Allows the user to keep more detailed notes on progress per lesson - very useful for reassuring the pupil that careful progress monitoring is used!
- Test schedule. Maintain a record of tests booked/taken (and results) for the pupil. Entries for future tests for all pupils are available as a reported Test Schedule.
- Account details. Details entered on a per pupil basis can be printed/reported and, if required, a personalised invoice can be printed.
Reports
Reports are available - either on screen or printed - for all the recorded customers' details.
Financial reports can be generated with your own defined start and finish dates (useful for accounting purposes).
Search facility
The database has various search facilities:
- Search by Name. So you can look for a pupil by first name or surname.
- Search by Phone Number. Useful if all you have is a phone number! This search can work on part phone numbers as well.
- Search by Form. For any other sort of search criteria, you can call a blank form, insert the details you have and then search on those criteria.
